A weekly digest of the biggest moves, model releases, and power shifts shaping the future of AI.

Welcome to this week’s The AI Loop. Things have been moving quickly across the AI ecosystem, and this week’s stories reflect just how much momentum is building as we head toward 2026. We’ve also got some Perlix AI updates from Breakpoint to share. Let’s jump in!

Perlix AI Update

Base Breakpoint

Breakpoint was a big moment for us. Our Founder and CEO Ahmed took the main stage to introduce Perlix AI Creator, a new platform built to keep humans at the center of AI by unifying how training data is created, reviewed and verified.

We’re heading into 2026 with serious momentum and plenty cooking behind the scenes! There will be more to share very very soon.

OpenAI Targets Up to $830B Valuation in New Fundraising Round

OpenAI is exploring a massive new fundraising round that could value the company at as much as $830 billion, as it looks to raise up to $100 billion to fuel its next phase of growth. The round is still early and expected to close no sooner than the end of Q1, with terms and investor demand still in flux.

The timing is notable. While concerns about an AI bubble have cooled enthusiasm across public tech markets, OpenAI is signaling continued confidence in long-term demand for frontier models and the infrastructure required to run them. If completed at the top end, the raise would place OpenAI among the most valuable private companies in history and underscore just how much capital the next wave of AI development is expected to consume.

Disney Strikes $1B Deal With OpenAI to Bring Characters to Sora

OpenAI has struck a major three-year deal with Disney to bring more than 200 characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars into Sora, its generative video platform. The agreement makes Disney Sora’s first large-scale content licensing partner and marks a big step toward AI-generated video entering the mainstream.

The deal allows users to create short, fan-inspired videos featuring iconic characters, settings and props, while excluding actor likenesses and voices. It signals a shift in how major studios are approaching generative AI, not as something to block, but as a new creative surface to experiment with. As Sora continues to evolve, content licensing is quickly becoming one of the most important frontiers in AI media.

Palo Alto Networks Secures Multibillion-Dollar Security Deal with Google Cloud

Palo Alto Networks is locking in one of its biggest security deals yet, deepening its relationship with Google Cloud under a new multibillion-dollar agreement. The deal will shift major internal operations onto Google’s cloud platform and expand joint engineering efforts focused on building AI systems with security built in from the start.

As part of the partnership, Palo Alto Networks will integrate Google’s Gemini models and Vertex AI into its security copilots, helping enterprises deploy AI without introducing new risks. With more than $2 billion in sales already flowing through the Google Cloud Marketplace and dozens of joint integrations in place, the move highlights how critical cloud-native security has become as AI workloads scale.
