A weekly digest of the biggest moves, model releases, and power shifts shaping the future of AI.

Amazon Pledges Up to 50B for U.S. Government AI Build-Out

Amazon is committing up to 50 billion to expand AI and supercomputing capacity for AWS government customers, marking one of the biggest cloud infrastructure pushes aimed at the public sector. Construction begins in 2026 and brings almost 1.3 gigawatts of high-performance compute across AWS Top Secret, Secret and GovCloud regions, which currently support more than 11,000 federal agencies.

The expansion gives agencies access to AWS’s full AI stack, including SageMaker for training, Bedrock for model deployment and foundation models from Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude. The move comes as companies like OpenAI, Alphabet and Microsoft ramp up massive investments in AI infrastructure to meet skyrocketing demand for compute.

Anthropic Debuts Claude Opus 4.5 as Valuation Hits 350 Billion

Anthropic rolled out Claude Opus 4.5 this week, introducing a new flagship model built for coding, computer control, and complex enterprise workflows. This is the company’s third major release in two months, which signals how quickly Anthropic is moving to capture the rising demand for automation inside large organizations.

The model is being positioned as a serious tool for developers and knowledge workers, reflecting a broader shift toward AI that can act like an employee rather than a simple assistant. The launch also comes at a moment when Anthropic’s valuation has reached 350 billion, a number that puts even more attention on how effectively the company can turn massive compute spending into revenue-producing AI agents.

Alphabet Races Toward 4 Trillion Valuation on AI Momentum

Alphabet is closing in on a 4 trillion valuation after another surge in its stock price, jumping more than 5 percent to a record 315.9 and pushing its market cap to 3.82 trillion. The company has now climbed nearly 70 percent this year, outpacing AI heavyweights like Microsoft and Amazon and putting Alphabet on track to join the small group of companies that have ever hit the 4 trillion mark.

The rally reflects a sharp turnaround in sentiment after early fears that Alphabet had fallen behind OpenAI. This year’s strong reviews for Gemini 3, rapid growth in its cloud division and a high-profile investment from Berkshire Hathaway have helped restore confidence.
